The Education For Employment System (EFE) is a public education system that contributes to the preparation of students for successful entry into employment and/or post—secondary education/training, creating a workforce ready for the 21st Century. The Region serves as a liaison to the Illinois State Board of Education. Its purpose is to administer and coordinate over 120 career and technical education (CTE) programs to approximately 7000 students in the Region’s 17 high schools and Capital Area Career Center, while also working closely with more than 180 Administrators, Counselors, and Career and Technical Education Teachers. The intent of the consortium is to seek out and administer state and federal resources to deliver quality career and technical education within each region.
